Robbie
Head coach and Founder
An ACE-qualified personal trainer and former D1 track and field athlete at Wake Forest, Robbie brings to bear a decade of high-level training expertise.
Robbie guides his clients to achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in their lifestyles, helping them lead healthier, happier and more fulfilled lives.
He works to educate, motivate and simplify exercise, health and mindset, helping members achieve their own personal goals at The Workhouse.
(Approximately 42% of Robbie’s personal exercise routine comes from chasing after his two labradors, Winston and Boomer.)
Cassidy
Strength Coach
Cassidy is originally from Springfield, Missouri, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Movement Science from Missouri State University.
During college, Cassidy gained valuable experience by coaching fitness classes and working at a fitness center. Her background and hands-on experience in the fitness industry have provided her with a deep understanding of the human body and the ability to design effective training programs.
As an American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), Cassidy demonstrates her in-depth understanding of exercise physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, and the principles of training. Her coaching philosophy is centered around empowering clients to unlock their full potential and surpass their goals. She firmly believes that through targeted training, individuals can enhance their athletic performance, improve their overall health, and transform their lives.
Nicole
Strength Coach & Personal Trainer
Nicole, an exuberant coach with a strong background in group fitness, leverages over four years of group class coaching experience to create a dynamic training environment at The Workhouse.
Her journey in fitness, highlighted by her tenure as an L1 CrossFit Trainer and a certified ACE group class instructor, showcases her commitment to fostering holistic health transformations.
Nicole excels in guiding individuals from diverse fitness backgrounds, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced athletes refining their skills, towards achieving profound, sustainable changes in their health and well-being.
Hadrian
Strength Coach & Personal Trainer
Hadrian Kirkwood combines military discipline, and a fervent passion for fitness, making him a standout member of our coaching team.
His 10-year tenure as a U.S. Army combat medic infused him with a profound understanding of physiology and the importance of physical fitness. Now a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, Hadrian’s methods are rooted in structured progress and resilience.
Specializing in strength and muscle building, he tailors programs that enhance functional strength and body recomposition.
Starting January 2025, he will further his expertise with an Online Masters in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida.
Nina
Strength Coach & Personal Trainer
Nina, an Appalachian State grad and former cross-country and track athlete, brings a blend of competitive spirit and fitness passion to our team.
A fervent mountain bike and cyclocross racer, she thrives on challenges and loves to lead strength classes at Workhouse, infusing each session with the same intensity she brings to the trails. Nina’s love for EDM keeps her energized, and she often shares this vibe during her classes.
Despite her high-energy lifestyle, she’s a self-proclaimed “crazy cat lady” with a beloved 16-pound black cat named Gigi and a penchant for iced coffee, no matter the season. Join Nina for a class that’s as motivating as it is fun!
Emily
Strength Coach and Founder
Emily graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in Health & Exercise and is currently in her 4th year at Wake Forest School of Medicine, just down the street from The Workhouse in The Innovation Quarter.
Setting up The Workhouse is the culmination of years of planning, research and hard work, realizing her dream of creating a premium strength and fitness studio in Winston-Salem, combining all the ingredients for clients’ success.
A certified ACE personal trainer with a genuine interest in her clients’ wider life goals, she advocates for a balanced, healthy lifestyle, underpinned by a meaningful, regular fitness routine.
Emily has a deep, science-based understanding of the profound physiological and mental advantages of regular fitness training.
